I made this soup back in June after seeing the recipe at Steamy Kitchen blog (always am a sucker for “fast” food). The soup is deliciously flavorful, even more than the one from my favorite Japanese restaurant and is indeed quick to put together. This recipe is definitely a keeper! In anticipation of making the soup (but not feeling up to making sushi), I decided to give Costco’s sushi a try. Keith and I had thought about trying Costco’s sushi (shown in the picture) for a while before then, seeing how remarkably cheap it is. Well, it turns out that in this instance, you do get what you pay for. The sushi tasted either unappetizingly bland or just plain awful – it was simply a waste of money! Anyway, a lesson learned and now we know. Next time if we want to save money eating sushi, we’ll be sure to spend some time and effort to make our own and skip the sushi wannabes.
